I got this problem as well, I though it had something to do with opacity settings... Can anyone tell me how I can export multiple images from a sequence of VTK input files?

I believe that we use the MSVC codec on Windows due to patent/license issues. I would recommend saving a set of images and using another tool to generate the movies.
