Hello
I think you can just use the append dataset filter to combine the grids. This
works fine with .pvd files: just load up the data
and select (highlight) all the data you want to combine and then apply the
append dataset filter.
It certainly seems to work if the data have the same scalars etc.
Hopefully this is what you are looking at.
