Hi Dan, vtkPolyData can deal with 0-D, 1-D, 2-D linear cells.
vtkUnstructureGrid can deal with all the types of cells that vtkPolyData support+ 3-D linear cells and 1-D, 2-D,3-D non-linear cells. vtkPolyData is more compact and efficient for 0-D,1-D,2-D linear cells than vtkUnstructureGrid.
