Hi Patrick, Is there a reason you don't want to write a C++ plugin to achieve this? Readers are fairly straightforward to implement with ParaView and there are plenty of examples. Plus, I don't know if it is possible to achieve what you want with Python API alone, but hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
