Ok, I think you're completely right. I've added 3 votes and hope the
feature will be fixed very soon!
Thanks - case closed from me and for now I'll just run without multicore
feature. Now it must be time for other people to fix this bug...

No, I'm pretty sure the problem has nothing to do with your graphics card.
It has to do with you running in multi-core mode (Settings -> General ->
Use Multi-Core) and using quadratic elements (the 20-element hexahedra).
You have not stated, but I'm betting that it works when the Use Multi-Core
feature is off but does not work when the feature is on.
It is only fairly recently that the wireframe displays correctly for
quadratic elements, and there is a corner case where it still does not
work. This happens to be the case when using the multi-core feature.
So in short, correct wireframes for quadratic elements in multi-core mode
is not supported. I raised a suggestion to fix it on ParaView UserVoice.
If you want the feature fixed, go vote for it.

Ok - I think I know what the problem is...
Anyone with ATI graphics card here who can reproduce my problem? I'm
pretty sure that if you have an ATI graphics card, you'll have the same
problem as me...
I guess whoever the vtk-file works for, is using NVIDIA graphics cards
(or something other than ATI) - am I right, Utkarsh?
So I'm completely sure the problem is related to the graphics card
drivers. Can somebody here confirm my theory?

No luck reproducing the problem here (see attached image). Try running
with "-dr" command line option. Wondering is some setting got changed
inadvertently that's causing this problem.

Dear all,
Ok - my problem was/is related to a 20-node element - please see this
simple
vtk-file and then change to "wireframe" and *pplease* tell me why I
cannot
see the true grid/mesh, but these annoying triangles that make up the
element...

Please advice (somebody more clever than me) and perhaps suggest a
solution
so I can see the true mesh/grid for a 20-node element like I uploaded!

Subject: [Paraview] [newbie] show grid in paraview - wireframe shows
triangles instead of quads...
Hi all,
[newbie question]: I want to show my mesh/grid in paraview and turn on
"wireframe" mode. But this shows triangles instead of quads... I
colleague of mine says that on his windows pc the correct quad mesh is
shown but on my linux pc, I only see triangles...
Please help me understand how to see the true grid instead of the
triangles...
Thanks.
