As John was saying, are you trying to build with visual studio or mingw/msys? If Visual studio then you need to point it to python27.lib not .a. If mingw then you need to launch cmake-gui from the msys console and select MSYS Makefiles as your generator (blow away your build tree and configure from scratch).
