VTK's cmake rules (and consequently ParaView's CMake rules) are being
overhauled for VTK 6.0/ ParaView 4.0. So this would be a good
opportunity to start supporting such a build-time option.

This would be greatly appreciated. ParaView is currently packaged in
Fedora (by me), but it has snuck in somewhat under the radar - though
there is a bug filed against it. This would resolve a longstanding
packaging issue.
