Torben,
This was just off the top of my head - some back ground, we have ParaView working through TurboVNC/VirtualGL nicely on a Centos 5.8 HPC GPU cluster. We have another project building a cloud version - as we don't have GPU's yet it is using Mesa (though I have not tried ParaView but know TurboVNC works with Mesa). If it is just ParaView and nothing else maybe it is the build? A quick google shows there are some tricks: http://paraview.org/Wiki/ParaView/ParaView_And_Mesa_3D Sorry I can't be more help. However I'm not convinced that this is the problem. As stated glxgears (and ElmerGUI, etc) works. This is using the libGL.so from libgl1-mesa-swx11, so mesa it self seems to be working. Also, because of things out of my hands, I can only connect to the machine using Windows Remote Desktop so I cannot choose the vncviewer as I please. Any further help is appreciated, thanks Torben On Fri, May 3, 2013 at 10:25 AM, Paul McIntosh <[email protected]> wrote: Torben, Checkout TurboVNC/VirtualGL - pretty sure it can be built with mesa if no GPU is available. If I run it as $ ssh -X localhost paraview still inside the VNC session it seems to work fine What do I need to make it work directly? Thanks Regards Torben
