Odd...are you running a parallel server or a single processes
pvserver? What is the remote rendering threshold set to i.e. are you
doing remote rendering or local rendering (see [1] is you're unsure
how to determine that)?.
Here's my command on the server: (I want a baseline for a multi-server
parallel back-end)
$ mpirun -np 1 /usr/bin/env DISPLAY=pfe20:31.0 ./mylocal/bin/pvserver
--client-host=pfe20 --use-offscreen-rendering
I didn't touch the default remote rendering setting in the client.
The threshold is zero. I was able to remote render the disk_out_ref.ex2
tutorial example just fine. Perhaps there's some issue with the SILO
reader used in pvserver? Thanks.

Hi. I am trying to run ParaView 4.3.1 in client/server mode. After the
client connects, I try to open a SILO data file (I built paraview
with the
SILO reader option). Then, I can see pvserver growing in memory use
to 91%
(of 48G!) using top. At that point the job scheduler kills my job.
Anyone
know what might be causing this memory consumption?
BTW, if I try to open the same SILO file with ParaView 4.3.1 running
standalone on my desktop, it works fine.
Thanks.
