Stephanie, The issue seems to be the fact that in the XDMF file you have a whole lot of duplicated points. Here's my pipeline:
fault.xmdf -> Clean To Grid -> Cell Data To Point Data Now I can contour as expected. Clean To Grid will merge duplicate points.
