Hi Andy,
thanks for your swift reply. Disabling the PV config file resulted in
another error:
vtkEventQtSlotConnect (0x1a18b10): Cannot connect NULL objects.
However, your remark set me on the right track. The problem was an old
PV_PLUGIN_PATH variable which pointed to python plugins that I built for
a different PV version. A simple $ export PV_PLUGIN_PATH="" did the
trick. Thanks again!
Cheers,
Martin

This sounds like maybe something with your PV config. Try running with
the --dr flag to disable reading in your config file.

Hello everyone,
I am running into a strange issue and hope someone can help me:
I'm compiling ParaView 5.2.0 locally on my openSuse 13.1 system
(gcc).
Configuring and compiling works just fine. However, as soon as is
try to execute ParaView, I immediately end up with a segmentation
fault.
Running ParaView with gdb shows that the error is somewhere in
vtk. I attached the backtrace below.
So I started asking around and no one I know ran into this error.
Therefore, I started experimenting and set up a virtual box with
openSuse 13.1. The strange thing now is, that everything works
just fine in the virtual environment. No warnings, no seg faults.
I'm grateful for any help you can offer.
Kind regards,
Martin
