Kevin Tew has submitted a proposal titled "A prototype LLVM JIT runcore
for Parrot" to this year's Google Summer of Code project. To me it looks
like a great project.

But so far nobody volunteered to mentor, and without a mentor this project
can't fly.
This is a chance of getting paid work for Parrot with relatively little
effort, and it would be a real shame to see it wasted.

I wrote a bit about your tasks as a mentor here:
<http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=755872>

If you're interested, please go to <http://socghop.appspot.com/>,
register, and then apply as a mentor. Then contact Jonathan Leto (jonathan
at leto dot net, or dukeleto on IRC), he needs to approve your
application. Note that signing up doesn't mean that you actually mentor
this project - that's a separate step.

(Once your account is approved, you can select individual projects and
click on the "I'm willing to mentor this student" button).

Note that I probably can't answer any questions because I'll go offline
for the Easter vacations quite soon, but #soc-help on irc.perl.org should
be a good resource.

I'll mentor the perl5 LLVM approach.

This seems to make more sense to me.
