This is a core library. They happen to follow tcl's globbing style (and partcl is using them), but they're not tcl specific. The glob language here is common, but different than the version implemented in PGE::Glob.
I've added a comment to the library file to emphasize this, along with specific docs as to what this particular glob syntax looks like. I agree that a less confusing name could be chosen.
