Hello, I have recently been working to make all of Parrot's documents, to include its more "historical" documents (e.g., 0.0.5 - 0.9.1), available on github. Unfortunately, the total size of all of these documents is well over 550 MB, which is far too large.[1] The net effect is, 'parrot.github.com' will not build.
Given this limitation, I need to separate all of the documents out across multiple repositories and, then, use gh-pages to pull them all together under 'parrot.github.com'.[2] Consequently, I need an "owner" -- i.e., someone with the appropriate privileges -- to create five parrot repos. I suggest something like the following as appropriate names for the various repos: 1. 'parrot-docs0'; 2. 'parrot-docs1'; 3. 'parrot-docs2'; 4. 'parrot-docs3'; and 5. 'parrot-docs4'.[3] For more information about the problem, please see the dicsussions at the following pages: 1. https://github.com/parrot/parrot.github.com/issues/2 and 2. https://github.com/parrot/parrot.github.com/issues/5. And for more additional information about the solution using gh-pages, please see "Project Pages" section of http://pages.github.com/. Thank you. -- Alvis ---------- [1] That is to say, it is far too large for github to build; at least, so say the github folks. [2] This, btw, is the approach the github staff recommends. [3] I am, of course, not wedded to these names. So, if someone has better alternatives, please feel free. _______________________________________________ http://lists.parrot.org/mailman/listinfo/parrot-dev
