Provided we continue to keep the TODO on test 28 in t/pmc/filehandle.t,
the whiteknight/io_cleanup1 branch, I believe that branch can be merged
into master.
I have tested the case where I clone master and then merge io_cleanup1
branch into it. It passes the usual 4 ways on Linux/i386, where it also
passes 'make fulltest'. And, with the TODO in place, 'make test' PASSes
on Darwin/PPC.
How does this branch perform on Windows?
Note: Since this branch has been under development for a long time,
once it is merged it would be good to have a succinct -- no more than 3
paragraphs -- post on list as to
* the problems the branch was meant to address
* what problems it did address and how it did address them
* what problems it failed to address
