#1074: Parrot fails to build with gcc when using --optimize on OpenSolaris

Parrot will not build on OpenSolaris with GCC if --optimize is used. This
happens with both gcc 3.4.3 (the default gcc package on Solaris) and gcc
4.3.2.
The output is a bit unwieldy (and I'm not sure what's relevant and what
isn't) so I have pasted the output in a pastebin:
