jimmy,
Both Andy Dougherty and I configured Parrot with a ''gcc'' < 4.0
on a non-Windows platform. ''Configure.pl'' correctly handled
that case, ''i.e.,'' it did not add `visibility` to the
configuration and it subsequently built Parrot correctly.
So it does not appear that ''Configure.pl'' is doing
anything incorrectly, which suggests that flw's problem
lies elsewhere.
