I have had the noisy output from this step before and currently since I
installed Ubuntu 10.10 (from the beta release). I managed to remove most
of this in earlier versions of Ubuntu, but it seems required in 10.10. I
usually run Configure.pl with --test as well so this makes it difficult.
There have been a couple of tickets related to this, for example TT #1182.
I remember at least one other from japhb and there were some tickets
rurban was involved with.
