here is a patch to display and allow to set the partition type id/uuid for dos and gpt. This is needed for cases where a system is "cloned", that is the partition layout is transfered to another disk. But there are also way more type-uuids for gpt that parted knows about so this allows the user to use parted also for those type-uuids. The patch is not finished, documentation and testcases are missing. Also for dos there is the problem that setting the "system" variable does not set all the flags. I think test best would be to drop those flags like it just happened for gpt.
