Of those three flags parted can only set the no-auto flag, e.g.: parted /dev/sdx set 1 no_automount on The flag is also shown in the output. This is new in parted 3.6. fdisk can handle the bits 48-63. You have to enter the "extra functionality" using 'x'. ciao Arvin
