I would still rather see this fixed by taking out the BSD lock on the
disk to prevent the race with udev, but I also still think that it is a
bug for udev to blindly be deleting and (hopefully) re-adding the
partitions on a disk every time a process opens and closes it.  I'm not
sure why my email to their mailing list has had no replies.  I will poke
them again.
