OK, I haven't heard any negative comments on the /dev/mapper patch and
since it fixes the problem I see reported here:

I'm including it in rc2 for testing. You can download 1.8.0rc2 from here:

This rc includes:
- UI improvements (display more disk info)
- /dev/mapper read/write support via libdevmapper
- Fix compile problems on Slackware
- Fix geometry read problem seen on 64-bit Macs
- Handle disk_types==NULL in ped_register_disk_type()
- Handle type not in list in ped_unregister_disk_type()
Please test and report any bugs. We're getting closer to 1.8.0 final!
