I have verified that without this patch the rescue command fails on non 512 byte sector devices. I will apply this patch as a follow up to my patch I just posted fixing another issue with the rescue command, once that is ACKed, after adding one line to the patch enabling the test my patch added to enable the test to run on non 512 byte sector devices.
