Hey Charles,

The reason you are prompted for your gpg password once, but not on
subsequent attempts, is most likely because gpg-agent is caching it.
If you are using gpg-agent this setting should be in
~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf. According to 'man 1 gpg-agent' the default is
600 seconds.
