I'm no 1Password user, but I'd err on the side of caution and import trashed items by default too (into a subdirectory "trashed" for example). When the user imports them but didn't want to, they can rm -r that directory. On the other hand, when they wanted it but didn't specify --trashed and deleted their 1Password after spot-checking the import, data is lost.
