Dear List,
the existing patch for gcc4 builds of
JDK-1.5.0-08
(which has been current since last year) is no longer up to
the latest (I'm using gcc-4.1.1, and also glibc-2.4, if that's
relevant). I have excitingly called the new patch
jdk-1.5.0_08-gcc4-2.patch, and it's attached. The new parts nowhere actually overlap with the old parts, inherited from jdk-1.5.0_08-gcc4-1.patch, but two files are patched in both. The date-stamps are taken as from the release files to the new version in both cases. The use of -ffriend-injection in hotspot/build/linux/makefiles/vm.make is from steevcoco, posting at http://weblogs.java.net/blog/cayhorstmann/archive/2006/06/honey_i_built_t.html However, the patch details have rotted since build b06, and the rest of the details have been generated (tiresomely) from scratch by me. The patch is also available on my web-site, at http://www/brenda-arkle.demon.co.uk/patches/jdk/ Yours faithfully, Bernard Leak. _________________________________________________________________Be the first to hear what's new at MSN - sign up to our free newsletters! http://www.msn.co.uk/newsletters
