Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Core (C code) Group: Python 2.5 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Thomas Wouters (twouters) Assigned to: Neal Norwitz (nnorwitz) Summary: kwdargs for compile/__import__ Initial Comment: Keyword arguments for compile() and __import__(), as discussed at PyCon. There is a slight speed difference on my development system: __import__ is ~1% slower, compile() is ~1.5% faster. I blame both on caches, alignment and what not, so I bet they're totally different for everyone. I'd say the advantage of managing the growing set of arguments outweighs the speed impact (if any.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=305470&aid=1444529&group_id=5470 _______________________________________________ Patches mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/patches
