Category: Library (Lib) Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Oskar Anderö (oskar_andero) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: popen2 new parameter and setpgid Initial Comment: This patch adds a new parameter to the popen2 library functions: a dictionary called options. This provides a way to add options to the calls and avoiding compatibility issues as in missing parameters etc. I have implemented an option called "pgid" which sets the process group ID of the spawned process. I really would like to move bufsize and mode to this dictionary too, but this would give backward compatibility problems. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Oskar Anderö (oskar_andero) Date: 2006-03-20 13:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1355975 aimacintyre: True. Sorry for my bad research. Case closed! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew I MacIntyre (aimacintyre) Date: 2006-03-20 12:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=250749 Doesn't the subprocess module provide these facilities? I just wonder about the value of changing the signatures of the popen*() family at this point when subprocess effectively supercedes popen*(). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=305470&aid=1454425&group_id=5470 _______________________________________________ Patches mailing list [email protected] http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/patches
