Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Documentation Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Bjrn Lindqvist (sonderblade) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Document the constants in the socket module Initial Comment: I wish to add documentation for the constants in the socket module. AF_*, SO_*, MSG_* etc. Some of them are really useful such as SO_KEEPALIVE and MSG_WAITALL. The modules documentation currently just refers the reader to UNIX manual pages, but I think we can do better. This patch is for the AF_* constants. If it is accepted, I'd like to submit patches for the other constants too. Maybe there should be a subsection for all constants? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Georg Brandl (gbrandl) Date: 2007-06-07 18:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=849994 Originator: NO Yes, more documentation is almost always better than less. :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bjrn Lindqvist (sonderblade) Date: 2007-06-07 17:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=51702 Originator: YES I assume you like the general idea of the patch then? I'll create a patch with the tables and create a new subsection to contain them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Georg Brandl (gbrandl) Date: 2007-06-07 13:44 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=849994 Originator: NO I fear that intermixing \dataline with content within one datadesc is not correct. I think I'd put the constants and their explanation into a table. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=305470&aid=1732367&group_id=5470
