Gain experience across all stages of a project lifecycle from requirement definition and analysis to roll out in production and support. Grow leadership and project management skills - with the potential to manage small teams and projects. Gain exposure to diverse technologies including Java, C#, Database - Sybase / UDB and interfacing with multiple systems in the firm. Gain an understanding around BC&E analytics which will encompass what-if analyses, slicing and dicing the data and driving enterprise schedule negotiation. *Skills - * Java - primary skill / C#; Unix/Linux, Sybase/UDB. Integration of data flows with numerous upstream systems; ensuring completeness and accuracy of data reported. Implement a comprehensive system for accuracy testing, monitoring and resolutions tracking workflow for globally distributed regulatory data. The scope includes all product lines that the firm trades in, all entities and all business transactions *Skills:* 3+ years (Anything over 4-5 is ideal) of strong hands-on experience developing multi-tiered applications. Strong knowledge of the Java technology stack, including the core java packages and advanced concepts such as concurrent programming. Past experience in database programming, including batch processing systems and data modeling for high volume systems. Full Understanding of SDLC. Self motivated, a problem solver, an articulate communicator and enjoy working with business users directly. Preference for undergrad degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, or finance. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of advanced programming concepts such as test-driven development, design patterns and refactoring. Past experience using JUnit and mock objects in a practical development environment. Understanding of iterative development techniques, with preference given to candidates with experience in an Agile approach to software development. To work with the core web frameworks technology team, as well as other technology teams within the firm to develop, enhance and maintain the website and related frameworks. The primary programming language used by the team is Java, the site's frontend is developed using a JavaScript framework ExtJS, utilizing AJAX to facilitate serving dynamic content to the browser. The back-end framework uses a wide range of open-source software (e.g. HSQLDB, zookeeper, apache, tomcat), and uses Sybase and DB2 UDB database engines. A successful candidate will be able to develop software using these technologies (main focus being core Java and JavaScript + ExtJs) and the frameworks built on top of them. Other responsibilities include: Set and follow quality standards for software development. Identify problems and suggest improvements in existing software and processes. Assist in deploying and testing software into runtime environments. Work well with a team of developers *Skills - * JavaScript development. ExtJs. Server side Java development (3+ years required) Experience in developing multi-threaded applications. Experience in building scalable server-side components.
