*Position : Data Architect (Local to MA, NH, RI)* *Location : Boston, MA* *Duration : 4 year (renewable)* *Interview : Phone & Face to Face * *Responsibilities for Data Architect * *Database Development (60% or more)* The Data Architect will mainly be responsible for building our enterprise databases, including: · *Implement relational database solutions* using available database development tools. · *Document applications and sub-systems interactions, data flows and data mappings*. · *Address issues of data migration and conversions (validation, clean-up and mapping). * · Document enterprise data standards and help enforce these standards in new projects. · Work closely with the business users, developers, and DBAs in a collaborative manner. · Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements. · Understand business owner's needs and translate them into clear specifications, logical and physical designs. · Complete complex and difficult assignments and must demonstrate an ability to multitask, and contribute within a collaborative team. *Application Development (40% or less)* The Data Architect will also responsible for some application development, including · Design and implement web applications using Object Oriented Design, Object Oriented Programming, .NET and ASP.NET. · Provides quality control/assurance to software development. · Gain a thorough and in-depth understanding of the current systems. · Troubleshoot, debug and optimize code to ensure performance. · Nice to have experience in web services, MVC, client JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as JQuery, Bootstrap and/or AngularJS. · Nice to have experience in Agile development methodologies. *Database Skills* · *5 + years of working experience in designing and implementing databases in Oracle and SQL Server.* · *Strong knowledge of database design, database programming and data management. Ability to transform complex data models to usable blue prints.* · *Strong background in Data Analysis, Database Design/Modeling and Data* *Integration.* · Experience with Data Migration and ETL tools knowledge. · Strong background in performance fine tuning in database and application. · Experience with Database and Software Development Life Cycles. · Proficient in T-SQL and PL/SQL. · Possess high level of analysis and problem solving skills, a very high level of technical and programming skills. · Excellent interviewing and facilitation skills for gathering detailed, comprehensive requirements. · Attention to details in complex database and application designs. · Nice to have experience in SSIS and/or SSRS. *Application Development Skills* · 3+ years of overall software development experience with demonstrated experience in developing web based software applications. · Strong background in design, development and implementation of large-scale multi-tier, multi-user web applications. · Experience with Object Oriented Design and Programming. *· *Experience with*.NET development and knowledge of* *.NET architecture, ASP.NET <http://ASP.NET>.* *· **Nice to have working experience with MVC, C#, VB.NET <http://VB.NET> and ADO.NET <http://ADO.NET>.* · Nice to have working experience with client technologies including JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, Bootstrap and/or AngularJS. · Nice to have knowledge of web services using Web API or WCF. · Nice to have experience with Agile development methodologies. *Other Skills* · Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting with closed communication with others. · Excellent written and oral communication skills. · *Ability to pursue tasks with a minimum of supervision and deliver quality work on time.* *AGENCY Development Environment* o Development environment includes SQL Server and Oracle databases. o Microsoft .Net framework 3.x and 4.x, Visual Studio 2010 and 2012, TFS and Toad, etc. o C#, VB.Net, ASP.NET and MVC are in used. o Use of web services, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, JQuery/AJAX, XML and JSON. o Third party tools include Toad, Infragistics and Active Reports, etc. o Development environment includes Microsoft .Net framework 2.0, 3.5 and 4.x, Visual Studio 2010 and 2012, Team Foundation Server and Toad. o Database connectivity to Oracle 10g in a Windows environment.
