*Position : *DevOps Engineer *Location : *Melville, NY *Duration : 6+ Months * *Interview : *Phone / Skype *USC, GC, EAD-GC Only* * App dynamics and Splunk Experience * *Job Description* · Our instrumentation engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining our systems that are used to monitor and control our software ecosystem and processes. · They will ensure that our systems and processes operate effectively and efficiently. · They work with 3rd parties who manufacture software and our engineering team who creates our proprietary IoT systems. *Key Responsibilities* · Ownership of monitoring & alerting within proprietary software solutions · Work with the engineering teams to proactively monitor all inputs & outputs · Works with the incident teams & automation team to deploy proactive issue resolutions for the monitoring · End-2-end ownership of issue detection within proprietary software · Leverage tools, technology, and process to ensure end user consumers have a positive experience · Test and maintain all aspects of monitoring our software. · Ensure redundant & resilient systems are monitored in the event of failover · Analyze reports generated from our systems · Provide assessments on current monitoring solutions · Work with 3rd party suppliers to ensure the use of their products are properly deployed & monitored · Understand the urgency and importance of 0 downtime for consumer based products. · Support for major Incidents when they occur. · Able to work independently under minimal supervision *Job Requirement* · 2-4 years of engineering with .Net & Java preferred · 2-4 years of monitoring experience within proprietary software · ITIL Foundation preferred · Experience in a DevOps environment · Experience in creative problem solving · Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences. · Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. · Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. · Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization. · Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts. · Highly team oriented.
