*GENERAL INFORMATION:* Title: Ruby on Rails Lead developer Location: Portland, OR Duration: Full Time, C2C or C2H Visa: Open Level: Senior Priority: Very High Interviews: Telephonic or Skype Rate: $60/hr on C2C/1099 or $150K on W2 *Job Description:* As a full-stack Lead Ruby on Rails developer , you will support our customer in developing and maintaining new and existing Ruby on Rails based applications that are critical for the program organization. *Responsibilities:* 1. Develop and maintain new and existing Ruby on Rails based applications 2. Design new relational data models and update existing ones using MySQL databases 3. Develop low fidelity UI mock-ups using tools like Balsamiq or equivalent 4. Develop code for both front-end and back-end components 5. Utilize responsive web design techniques in ensuring the UI is mobile optimized 6. Adhere to Section 508 guidelines and compliance requirements 7. Apply Behavior Driven Development (BDD) techniques and automate tests using Cucumber/Gherkin 8. Embrace agile development process adapting to scrum and kanban methodologies as appropriate 9. Develop architecture diagrams, system documentation and any other instructional materials as required *Required Qualifications:* 1. 5 years of dedicated Ruby on Rails development experience 2. Expert knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, MySQL, and Git/SVN version control system. 3. Expert knowledge of BDD and related tools namely Cucumber and Gherkin 4. Familiar and comfortable with tools like Vagrant to spin up virtual environments 5.
