Of Transportation IT&T Project Management Office. The DOT business units depend on the IT&T PMO to have the appropriate staff and skill set to build modern web-based, mobile-enabled applications which are both public-facing and for DOT employees that assist the business units to ensure maintenance crews and DOT contractors are properly managing hundreds of miles of roadways and highways. Different crews and contractors will also manage the state-of-good-repair for thousands of other DOT assets, for example the pedestrian ramps, street signs, corners, traffic lights, bridges, and sidewalks. For private small and large businesses to use the sidewalks around NYC, DOT also requires workflow-based permit and license systems that enable the private businesses to set-up sidewalk cafés, outdoor dining sheds, and private bus drop-off and pick-up locations. Thousands of contractors including the utility companies are also required to log-in and use the systems developed by the PMO IT&T to request a permit before they open up roadways to access their steam, water, and electric pipes and conduits. Our systems allow DOT staff to review, approve, and deny the sidewalk and roadway dining requests, manage, and build bike lanes, manage the work required to perform the installation of pavement markings, and renewal of pavement markings that are fading, manage the installation and replacement of signs on the streets of New York City, and to document the current and historical inventory of signs by location. The following methodologies are currently being used for different projects Waterfall, RUP and Agile. · Create/update design artifacts and deliverables such as use case diagrams, application architecture, class/sequence diagrams and high-level/detailed design documentation. · Collaborate with business analysts, quality assurance specialists and application developers during the design, development, testing, and implementation of applications. · Understand high level application architecture/design, network design, performance constraints and security frameworks. · Participate in and contribute to formal/informal technical reviews and presentations. · Research, present and/or make recommendations on technical issues. · Mandatory Requirements Minimum of 15 years’ experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions; environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid-range, personal computers, laptop; available to assist and/or lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions.
