You may consider a cloud-based storage platform that can be independently
secured with your own encryption key such as JungleDisk (
http://www.jungledisk.com/personal/desktop/features/).
- Pros:
- Cheap: $3 per month assuming that you won't exceed the 5GB storage
- Simple to administer and use (shared JungleDisk drive a appears
drive on their local machine)
- If you don't trust Amazon S3 to create and store your encryption
key, you can create your own
- Cons:
- Still need to install software and can be a complicated initial
process
- Not free
- Must securely transfer encryption key between users
