I think they do not cooperate because they have 2 way different approaches, I 
personally prefer brew since it does not fill my drive with several copies of 
libraries that I may already have. I think it is more of personal preference, 
that is why I will include both. Will have to play with stow, I have lived in 
the ruby world with RVM and in Python with pythonbrew, I will look in to perl 
this year.
