Hi Unfortunately this isn't going to be a very helpfully email. Amazon have there own email service and rate limit you as you build a trust level based on amazons metrics.
We blew that away mail limits three Times testing code. Now I'm unsure if amazon block External smtp server access. It's likely they do but there support Is very good and will answer that. I would expect though that they have been denied by business strategy. Sorry I'm on the beer limited value in the above On 13/04/2012, at ones testing pro21:59, subzer0girl <[email protected]> wrote: Hi everyone Does anyone have a stash of information on setting up an email server in the Amazon cloud and the dangers ? I've been goggling and haven't found any really golden nuggets. We currently have a service hosted in AWS. For some of our various services we need to be able to send out e-mails to people both inside and possibly outside of our domain. We don't want to use Amazon SES if possible. One of the projects is currently using gmail to send out e-mails to people when they request a password reset. Because this is not for general e-mail usage, the mail server doesn't need to actually receive e-mails, it just needs to send them out. Thank you !
