PAC Election Programme PAC President, Mr. Letlapa Mphahlele, will address a star/mega rally at Sterkspruit in the Eastern Cape on the 31st January 2009. He will be accompanied by the Secretary General, Mr. Mfanelo Skwatsha together with other National Executive Committee members.
Limpopo The President will also be visiting Limpopo province from the 2nd to 08th February 2009. He will meet with all the royalty representatives (Induna’s) falling under the leadership of Kgosikgadi Mphahlele of Bakgaga ba Mphahlele Royal Family in his home town, Nkumpi Lepelle Municipality. On Sunday the 08th February 2009 there will be a mega/star rally (provincial election manifesto launch) at Ga-Mphahlele village, coinciding with a campaign towards ensuring communities register to vote. Other Rallies will be held as follows: Capricorn 31/01/2009, Sekhukhune 21/02/2009, Moponi 28/02/2009, Waterberg 07/03/2009, Vhembe to be determined. Election Management Team will visit the province from 13th to 15th March 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. Western Cape. Provincial Election summit will be held on the 31st January 2009 and the venue is Look Out Hill in Khayelitsha, starting at 08h00 until 17h00. All regions have been notified including Eden, Central Karoo, Cape Winelands and Overberg. The programme of the Summit will be ready on Thursday 29th January 2009. Presidential/Leadership visit in the Province will be from 23rd to 29th March 2009 and Election Management Team will visit the province from 17th to 19th April 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. Mpumalanga. The President will be visiting the province from the 09th to 15th February 2009, culminating into the launch of Provincial Election Manifesto at Kwagga Stadium Sun, starting at 10h00. Election Management Team will visit the province from 27th to 29th March 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. PAC 50th Anniversary will also be held on the 05th April 2009 Gauteng On the 28th February 2009 the Province will launch of an election campaign in Ekurhuleni (East Rand). On the 21st March 2009 Sharpeville/Langa day will be commemorated at Sharpeville and the venue is Cricket Grounds, coinciding with the Provincial Launch (mega/star rally) of the manifesto (Presidential/Leadership visit will be from 16th to 22nd March 2009). On the 06th April 2009 PAC will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary at Orlando Communal Hall. Provincial closing campaign rally will be held at Tshwane and the details will be finalized once I.E.C has announced its timetable. Election Management Team will visit the province from 24th to 26th April 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. Kwa-Zulu Natal. Election Management team accompanied by leadership will visit the province from 06th to 08th February 2009 and followed by Presidential/Leadership visit from 09th to 15th March 2009. Northern Cape. Election Management team accompanied by leadership will visit the province from 20th to 22nd February 2009 and Election Management Team will again visit the province from 20th to 22nd March 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. North West Election Management team accompanied by leadership will visit the province from 13th to 15th February 2009. Followed Presidential/Leadership visit from 15th to 22nd March 2009 which will culminate provincial launch of the election manifesto/mega rally. Again Election Management Team will visit the province from 01st to 03rd May 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. Free State Election Management Team will visit the province from 10th to 12th April 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. Eastern Cape Sobukwe rally will be held at Graaff Reinet on the 28th February 2009, venue being Kolie Koeberg Stadium. Election Management Team will visit the province from 06th to 08th March 2009 for Training of Party Agents, Meeting with Candidates and Party reps in I.E.C PLC’s. Other External Activities On the 04th March 2009 there will be a by Elections throughout the country and the closing date for registration is on the 13th February 2009. Certification (closing) of the voters roll is on 30th January 2009. Registration is R500 (Bank guaranteed cheque) per ward contested and each candidate should fill a form obtainable from I.E.C Local Municipal Offices where registration is also done (please note, not at any other IEC office). Candidates should be registered voters in that particular municipality where elections would be held and should make a certified copy of I.D. Details of By-Elections are as follows: KwaZulu Natal: Imbabazane Municipality (Loskop), ward 03; Jozini Municipality (Mkuze), ward 02; Hlabisa Municipality (Somkele), ward 14; Mandeni Municipality (Mandeni), ward 02 and the entire registered population in these wards is 14 839. North West: Madibeng Municipality (Brits) – Madibeng, ward 17 and registered voters are 5407 Mpumalanga: Steve Tshwete Municipality (Middlelburg) – Steve, ward 04 and voting population is 3255. Northern Cape: Nama Khoi Municipality (Springbok) – Nama Khoi, ward 09; Ga-Segonyana Municipality (Kuruman) – GA ward 03 & ward 08 with the total registered population being 8346 >From 02nd to 06th February 2009 there will be registration of overseas government officials at all embassies and foreign government offices. During the same week there will also be registration of prisoners and party agents are allowed into prisons for the process (more information is obtainable at I.E.C local offices or PLC’s). Again 07th to 08th February 2009 all voting stations in the country will open for registration of voters (19 726 voting stations). On the 04th February 2009 I.E.C will launch its commissioned survey by H.S.R.C which will unveil voting patens and other important statistics which will assist political parties on strategizing for election campaigns. The next I.E.C National Party Liaison Committee Meeting is scheduled for the 18th February 2009 and members are requested to submit issues that should be raised with I.E.C on elections. Conclusion. In the next update (which will be done every wednesday) of the Election programme, we will include names of all party reps in PLC’s & their contact numbers, provincial elections structures and results of our performance in the by-election. In-between the national programmes, provinces, regions and branches are expected to continue with their own elections campaigns. Members, who wish to engage the leadership on election campaign or any other matter, are requested to do so within the allocated dates for their own province and communicate that with the election management team. Depending on the announcement of Election date, our programme end on the first week of May 2009 and after which we will work on consolidation of our gains as we move towards Siyanqoba or Victory rally.
