Difference between the Devil and God "....In a letter that he wrote whilst in Robben Island Robert Sobukwe makes a poignant distinction between the Devil and God. He says that the difference between God and the devil is simple yet compelling. Sobukwe says that if one asks God for anything HE takes his time to answer. If one asks God for money, or a house, or luck or for a beautiful wife, HE will take time before HE answers. The reason why HE takes time is because HE wants to be sure of the sincerity of your request. Sometimes if you ask for an expensive Mercedes Benz, HE just looks at you because HE knows that what you really need is a job to be able to buy your own car. HIS delayed response is to give you time to reflect on the seriousness of your request or its otherwise triviality. You will soon realize that what you have asked for is instead more of what you want rather than what you need.
Sobukwe says, on the other hand, if you ask the Devil for anything he gives you an immediate answer. The Devil is efficient in his response and his answers are Cash on delivery (COD). The Devil does not care whether your request makes sense or not, but he will grant it promptly. The Devil does not care whether your request is valid, dangerous or harmful he will grant it. If you ask the devil to kill the PAC he will tell you to suspend the Constitution. He will further advise you to fire the entire NEC; he will also tell you to terminate the membership of Clarence Makwetu. And he will certainly tell you to laugh it off when others are desperately concerned about their crumbling organization. And when you sober up to the folly of your requests it will be too late.
