Against the popular view, I join the chorus of those that say that it would be a Blessisng(not in dusguise) for the PAC and its off-shoots (APC and PAM) to get zero recognition in these elections. Put rather politely, to get No seats in niether of the spheres of governance after the April 22 polls. This is against a noble hope that this would or might rekindle some spark of senisbility and rationality amongst these groups, and idealistically, initiate reconciliatory talks amongst the antagonists . Against the risk that having no representation in government might mean extinction amongst the populace's feeble mind, but it is sad to believe that those elected to represent any organisation in parliament has the people's best interest at heart.
The PAC has partitioned itself three times in last 26 months or so, What a Joke! Owing not to ideological or polotical differences,of course, but to cliequism, fuelled by deep-seated desire to be in parliament, amongst other things. Imagine then, if any of these groups would get a fair share of representation, the heightened level of intensity of infighting that would ensue amongst members, and a foregone conclusion of more cabals being produced in the process. If you think I am paranoid or a pessimistic prophet of doom, ask youself whether the Godi and Plaatijie exits, culminationg in APC and PAM, respectively, have resulted in ceasefire in the PAC's infighting. If your answer is No, then believe when I say that even a single seat in parliament, for any of them, would be enough to get individuals to scrumble over.Look at each of these party's desparation to reach that end, to an extent of fashioning themselves as a latterday political party, akin to the ID's and UDM's of this world, albeit, mysteriously declaring themselves to be liberation movements. In recent days, this desperation has manifested itself rather disgustingly in some quaters, it must be said. Could the guardian angels of Azania, and by extention, Africa, on the other side of eternity heed this plea, by invigorating their spirits, all in the hope that it might lead to a restoration of oder in the Africanist movement.
