*PRESS STATEMENT * ** *PAC 3rd CONVENTION SHALL SEAT INTERDICT OR NOT* **
The Pan Africanist Youth Congress (PAYCO) of Azania wish to express its disgust and exasperation to the evil attempts by Letlapa Mphahlele and his veranda boys to interdict the seating of the PAC 3rd National Convention aimed at rebuilding and unifying the party towards a common destiny. PAYCO regards this counter – revolutionary attempt as an attack to the PAC and what it stands for and shall not go unpunished. PAYCO together with the Coordinating Team wish to reassure party members, leaders, veterans, stalwarts and the public at large that the Convention would take place as scheduled on the 28 – 29 November 2009. We are ready to defend the seating of this Convention in court against forces of evil. We shall not allow Mphahlele and his crew to destroy PAC and its rich history. We shall defend PAC with our lives if it comes to a push. We have the entire party membership, history and the aspirations of our people on our side we would fight to the finish and shall overcome traitors of our cause. We are glad also to inform you that all PAC Component Structures have confirmed their attendance and former party leaders have confirmed their attendance as well. We expect over 500 delegates to attend this historical event of our revolutionary party. This is the moment to cease in redefining and repositioning PAC. We shall not allow anyone to deny us an opportunity to build a strong party of the poor and the working class. Lets remind Mphahlele and many who are confused that the preparations for the seating of the Convention started shortly after the General Elections 2009, and they have never made any attempt to stop the process and should not expect the courts to listen to their nonsense now. They should not forget the uncontested Cape High Court decision which nullified their smuggled constitution, pseudo leadership elected and all resolutions taken in the so-called Alice Congress. These factors and many others would count against their application for interdict. PAYCO calls upon all party members and structures who are coming to the Convention to continue as planned as there’s no way the Court shall grant an interdict to nobody’s, who are not even leaders of the party. PAYCO wish also to make a call to all former APLA soldiers to stand up and defend the party from this Madman, you cannot allow these reactionaries to destroy the party of our people, the party of Sobukwe, Mothopeng, Pokela and Masemola, your sacrifices and the aspirations of our people. PAC shall rise again whether Mphahlele likes it or not.
