Thami ka Plaatjie resigns as PAM President December 05 2009 , 8:23:00 Controversial political leader, Thami ka Plaatjie has resigned from the splinter party Pan Africanist Movement (PAM). His letter of resignation was read during PAM's two-day policy conference at King William's Town in the Eastern Cape. A leadership dispute in 2007 split the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) into two factions, one backing PAC President Letlapa Mphahlele and the other supporting ka Plaatjie, who was the PAM President. Party secretary Clarence Mayekiso said Ka Plaatjie had decided to leave the party both as a member and a leader - after three tragedies in his family. Ka Plaatjie lost his wife before the elections and last month his two brothers. According to Mayekiso the conference has accepted his resignation. “The conference has accepted his resignation. We also want to announce that because of the career path he is to pursue, he has resigned both as a member of the party and as the President of Pan Africanist Movement.” http://www.sabcnews.com/portal/site/SABCNews/menuitem.5c4f8fe7ee929f602ea12ea1674daeb9/?vgnextoid=45042ee7bdf55210VgnVCM10000077d4ea9bRCRD&vgnextfmt=default&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sabcnews%2FqffV+%28Top+Stories%29 _________________________________________________________________ New Windows 7: Find the right PC for you.
