About the African Views Organization
African Views (AV) is a new and promising nonprofit organization based
on ?people participation? rather than contract obligations. AV is
launching a framework that brings people of African ancestry, both on
the mainland and in the African Diaspora, to one platform. The website
is often referred to as the AV Framework. It was designed specifically
to facilitate three main services: an information clearinghouse, human
communication, and strategic collaboration between all African
communities in all countries.
Our mission is to attract the contribution of African issue-related
information from individuals, organizations, and governments and
arrange them into meaningful categories for public use. We believe
that we can encourage improvement by combining intelligence and wisdom
from various professional disciplines and scholastic departments.
African Views Launches the African Views Framework Online
African Views facilitates a selection of over 100 vital statistics in
the country profile section of the framework. This purpose of the
vital-statistic is to help break down the issues into categories and
provide a quantifiable measure for favorable human conditions. The
provided vital statistical indicators also help to compare each
nation?s effort to promote favorable conditions for human development.
Since there are over 100 indicators in our portfolio, we have come up
a weighted average index called the AVI (African Views Index). The AVI
serves as a quick snapshot or summary for determining or interpreting
human development conditions and other necessary societal performance
indicators, (i.e. performance on education, economy, governance,
health, social equality?) without prejudice based on race, creed,
class, culture, or gender in every country or territory.
The AVI is calculated by normalizing all the country indicators scores
into percentages, (inverting and adjusting negative scores) and
finding the arithmetic mean. Same concept applies to country market
indices, whereby a weighted average is used to measure the broader
market and economic conditions of a country. The African Views
indicators are sourced from statistics authorities such as the UNDP,
EU, IMF, World Economic Forum, Transparency International, Economist
Intelligence Unit, Pew Research Institute, Bertelsmann Foundation,
World Bank, Heritage, Freedom House, US Library of Congress, etc. The
indicators help keep issues separated so that it is easier to identify
where problems may exist in a given country. The indicators also help
monitor progress or deterioration on separate cases and keep the
public well informed.
African Views framework offers several other components that are
available as sections on the website. The framework supports and
promotes strategic economic integration, fair cultural exchange and
encompassed representation of African and African Diaspora
communities. The website address is as follows:
http://www.africanviews.org. AV facilitates three main services: an
information clearinghouse, human communication, and strategic
collaboration between all African communities in all countries. The
framework offers many components designed to execute the
organization?s objectives. We aim to distinguish empirical from
normative statements and mobilize informed and dedicated individuals
in order to improve the condition and well-being of people in Africa
and the African Diaspora.
How AV Operates
The AV framework encourages the documentation of knowledge. Therefore,
discussions and debates are welcome with supporting material from
anyone who wishes to share information or experience. African Views
depends on the involvement of a wide range of people: orators,
writers, reporters, outreach candidates, and researchers who are
interested in African issues and dedicated to the cause of improving
the quality of life for all. The AV framework is a safe place for
anyone to ask questions or challenge current assumptions.
If you are interested in assisting us in this endeavor, you can begin
immediately by visiting http://www.africanviews.org. Register and
explore the site to learn how to participate in our efforts. The AV
framework provides you with several options:
1) Submit your comments to a current discourse or start one.
2) Submit your thesis or any compendium you may have that is relevant
to human or societal development or that contributes towards fair
representation of Africans and the African Diaspora.
3) Participate in research assignments such as collecting facts and
validating data.
4) Create topics, surveys and open ended questions.
5) Generate new content toward the score and ranking of countries. The
AV audience can review and rate contributed material.
6) See relevant country videos and upload any relevant video you want
to share.
7) Sell your books, journals, essays etc. in the African Views Market Place.
8) Submit African-based or African Diaspora-based organizations for
performance reviews

idealists, aspiring leaders, and any positive enthusiastic individuals
who want to explore new hypotheses and creative ways in solving
socio-cultural and geo-political problems.
Conclusion
The idea of African Views is not new. Many organizations are already
providing services on related African issues. African Views is unique
because it is designed to combine elements drawn from many disciplines
with metrics and technology developed to improve information exchange
and to support collaboration on African related issues and affairs.
This concept is new and encompassing.
The African Views framework will begin to offer great opportunities
for information exchange and cross-cultural communication. It will
facilitate a great deal of collaborative opportunities for many people
for many years to come.
The organization understands the common challenges in stimulating the
advancement of humanity from an African perspective. However, this is
an independent platform and we believe that there is a new opportunity
to do what is right in our lifetime. We welcome all who will stand up
for what is just and all who want to make the world a better place for
all nations and peoples.
Please forward this email to any qualified scholar or colleague you
think may benefit from this announcement.
On behalf of the African Views Organization:
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Director of Research & Strategy: Wale Idris
Director of Copy Editing: Patrick R. Joseph
Director of AV Affairs, Indiana: Kasandra Housley
