Press Release
26 February, 2011.

Subject: “WHY, HOW THEY WANT MUAMMAR QATHAFI TO GO”

The United States and its NATO allies have perfected the plan to
eliminate the Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Qathafi and the entire
leadership of the Popular Libyan Arab People Jamahiriya through naked
aggression, assassination and very violent means.
This plan was hatched, scripted and handed over to the British
Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, to execute as the mouthpiece of the
reactionary forces who in collusion with other international media
outlets, notably Al-Jazeera, followed the cue and cranked up the
volume on this total fabrication of so-called pro-democracy protests
in Tripoli, Benghazi and elsewhere. This was done in collusion with
‘the new media’ – the Internet- with photographs of these
‘demonstrators’ armed with AK-47 rifles and other assorted weapons
confronting state authorities.
These events, on the surface appear to be same with what has happened
in Tunisia and Egypt that saw the ouster of Ben Ali and Hosni Mubarak.
The international mainstream media has been very economical with the
truth as to the true situation in Libya. The Tunisians and Egyptians
rose up against very dictatorial regimes that were being propped up by
the US. Mubarak’s assistance to the US in the execution of its ‘war on
terror’ especially over the flights of rendition has been well
documented. This is also true with Ben Ali and his role in fighting a
so-called Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb.
In addition to that, economic life of citizens in those two countries
are nothing to write home about as even the US was the first to admit
that Mubarak’s over three decades of leadership had rather plunged the
country into an economic mess and the citizens into misery as all
economic indicators show. It is on record that more than a million
Cairo, Egypt residents sleep in cemeteries.
Can the same be said of the Libyans? No. Libyans under the leadership
of Qathafi enjoy the benefits of the oil wealth; the oil has not been
mortgaged to some American-owned international oil companies and
neither have the proceeds been stolen by the leadership and hidden in
some unnumbered Swiss bank accounts to benefit the Leader, his family
and friends as is the practice among many leaders who are always given
red carpet treatment in White House and Buckingham Palace and No. 10
Downing Street and well protected to rob their people blind. Instead
the Libyan oil wealth has been spread to every corner of the country
with schools, health and other social facilities available to every
citizen. To put it simply, the state under the leadership of Muammar
Qathafi has made sure that the average Libyan has more at his disposal
and therefore lives better than his US or European counterparts who
sleep on the street and queue to receive dole-outs.
Libya, economy as the strongest in the region, has therefore served as
a safety valve for many North Africans most especially the Egyptians
and Tunisians and Africans in general who are there in their numbers
working in various economic and social activities of the country with
their remittances supporting their families back home.
The anger of the US with Muammar Qathafi is the refusal of the Libyan
leadership to hand over control of the country’s oil wealth to the big
players like Exxon, Mobil, BP and the rest who have always been the
hidden hands that determine who wins the American presidency. Counting
on the successful removal of Mubarak and Ali, the White House and its
NATO allies have decided this is the time to eliminate the Libyan
leadership. The time is auspicious because many have been carried away
with events in Egypt and gripped with the euphoria that surrounded
that event, not many will think rationally and draw scientific
conclusion based on logical thinking about the situation in Libya.
Under the guise of a pro-democracy wind blowing across the Middle
East, the US and NATO have perfected the plan to remove the Libyan
leadership.
NATO forces have been placed on alert to launch coordinated air
strikes on Libyan territory with an aim to kill Muammar Qathafi while
mercenaries from Kosovo and Macedonia will be deployed on the ground
to tackle the Libyan army. Africans have not be left out of the plan.
The Darfur rebels, recruited, trained, armed and funded by Israel
against the government of Sudan are being airlifted from their bases
in Israel to join the anti-Qathafi coalition alongside Al-Qaeda
terrorist group.
The staging post for this naked aggression are the US military bases
in Northern Mali and Morocco and is a continuation of what previous US
presidents Bush senior and junior started in the name of regime
change. That terrorist policy has seen the US bogged down in Iraq and
Afghanistan in a no-win war. Now Barak Obama cast in the mould of his
predecessors has turned his eyes on Libya by continuing the genocidal
tactics and holocaust campaign of drone attacks in Pakistan and
Afghanistan, coups and attempted coups and assassinations in Latin
America while the demonization of the government in Iran continues on
a daily basis.
As the international mainstream media continues with its one-sided
presentation of events in Libya, it will be instructive to remember
that Benghazi where the demonstrations were supposed to have started
from is the home region of the late unlamented King Idris who was
overthrown by the armed forces to pave the way for the rapid economic
transformation of that country. The citizens of that city have never
forgiven the military for that and no wonder the instigators of the
violence chose that city as the pivot.
Photographs posted on the British and American news websites and video
footages aired have shown the so-called protestors or demonstrators
clearly carrying military weapons of various descriptions, a sight not
seen when the Egyptians and Tunisians revolted against the
anachronistic and archaic governments that recently ruled them. How
can these armed Libyans be demonstrators? These are insurgents that
have armed themselves against lawfully constituted authority and
therefore have to be treated as such. Most importantly is to ask: who
armed them?
The Obama plan of bringing in mercenaries and eliminating the Libyan
leadership will only engulf the whole region in an armed insurrection.
What the White House has forgotten is that whatever governments that
they through subterfuge and manipulation of events put in power in the
Arab world is doomed to fail because Obama cannot turn back the clock
of history as these events are rather fast-tracking the liberation of
Palestine which will be sooner than later.

Libya must Live!
