To: [email protected] Date: Saturday, 2 April, 2011, 11:52 Dear Editor Lately we have seen how the credible anti-imperialist agenda of the erstwhile liberation movements of South Africa is sacrificed on the altar of ' no fly zones' and 'protection of Libyan civilians' by none other than the President of the African National Congress and of the Republic of South Africa,President Jacob Zuma. President Zuma has reduced himself into an errand boy and a postman for Western interests by sponsoring resolutions meant to loot Libyan oil under the euphemism of protecting civilians. How else would one explain the president's attitude when one looks at the tactics he employed to have the former National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL), Kgosi Peter Fhumulani Kutama removed from his portfolio because he had endorsed Muammar Gaddafi's bid to become King of Africa. President Zuma might be suffering from amnesia about the role the Libyan leader has played in propping the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), African National Congress ( ANC) and the Azanian People's Organisation (AZAPO) whilst in exile but he cannot erase in the mind of revolutionaries the Libyan leader's commitment to anti-imperialism and African unity It is time that South Africa through President Zuma clarifies its stance on the anti- imperialist agenda.President Zuma should clarify whose interests is he serving by compromising the hard earned gains of the revolution in order to satisfy imperialist masters.
