Izwe lethu! It is with sadness that I announce the passing away of Cde "Bra Mike" Leshomo, an APLA combatant sentenced to death in 1990 by the apartheid regime. His sentence was converted to life imprisonment in 2004. Bra Mike had been in the hospital section of the Johannesburg Maximum Prison for the past year and all attempts to apply for medical parole have fallen on deaf ears, even though he had been short listed for pardoning with 206 other "lifers" sentenced prior to 1994. May his soul rest in peace. There are at least 40 other APLA combatants in prisons throughout the country sentenced for APLA activities including Vontyi Moti, David Nene, Zweli Mhlongo, Delani Mponza, Bonginkosi Mchunu, Pa Ngubane, Eric Williams, Faizel Malefane etc...
