The question of who precisely will and perhaps must lead Azania and Africa 's
revolution has been relentless in my mind. Whilst all indications are that we
are set for a revolutionary uprisings, not enough time has been spent on how
this will churn out.

Truly the question is multidimensional and I do not therefore intend to
simplify it. However I am clear on who must lead the revolution first on the
Azanian front and then Africa.

The position I have taken on this matter applies first to the PAC. A few rules
are non negotiable in this regard.

The first thing is that the revolutionary detachment of our movement and
society must converge and adopt a revolutionary program. Without a program
there can be no revolution but cosmetics, good writings, personality cults,
chats etc.

Second, a leadership to pursue the program must be put in place. This is the
crux of my point. As a principle everyone that accepts leadership into the
national council cannot hold employment worse still in any government type
institutions or any capitalist set up. This is for the simple reason that our
cause will be exactly to upset this set up. I know too well how difficult it is
attempting to fight while needing to take care not to upset your employers too
much. This is how revolutions and struggles get neutralised and in some
instances just never take off.

I say anyone of us that is ready for the kind of uprising that is certainly
here, must be ready to give up our good life, jobs, possessions. Liberation
cannot be on a silver platter, as it never was. Sadly, even in this instance
blood will spill, murders abound, people exiled and jailed.

Viewed from this perspective, this task cannot be carried out piecemeal while
one eats from the very same people we seek to overthrow in order to liberate
our people. We must be ready to give up our cars and town house privileges as
it were, if we want to be in the front of this battle.

All other supporters and members must retain their jobs, take membership and
campaign for the movement. This is necessary at membership and support level,
but leadership must dedicate itself fully to this.

Once the leadership shakes off its privileges current and prospective, it must
be allowed to lead underpinned by a constitution that recognises the
circumstances and in this respect the term of office and the process of how
people get elected must be reviewed. The suggestion that the leadership will
not be able to lead unless employed is too lame and ahistorical. The necessity
of financial support is reaffirmed but this does not equate employment.
