The CIA operations in Africa are a clear and present danger, and their impact
and influence is without a doubt very powerful. They take various forms and
change with the demands of projects and the time and region in which they
operate. Not only has the PAC had negative publicity during the internal
struggles to flush out elements associated with the CIA, (Refer to the Gordon
Winter "Inside BOSS" publication which implicated several leadership
personalities, the Nana Mahomo and US trade unionism link, and even the Henry
Isaacs debacle) there is clear evidence now that the US State Department has
applied a programme in Southern Africa to isolate the rise of the PAC and
render it non-effective.
I would even go further and say that the death of Sabelo Phama was probably
engineered from a control room in Washington. The microchip technology linked
to a satellite was highly advanced in 1993, and as we all know by now a vehicle
can be traced, monitored and controlled from a remote area, and even have its
speed increased and stopped suddenly to make a fatal impact. Cde Sabs was
trying to save on huge expenses when resources were not available at the time,
and driving from Dar es Salaam to Harare was most economical. It was also
clear that he and the APLA high command had had no say in the suprise
announcement by the PAC leader that armed struggle was suspended. The US
ambassador's office had sent representations to the Tanzanian government at the
time to stop giving support to the PAC and its cadres in the camps. Josiah
Tongogara of ZANLA received a similar fate ahead of ceasefire programmes in the
struggle for Zimbabwe.
I know of two comrades who worked for USSALEP in Braamfontein in the eighties
and early nineties, and were very active in the internal structures of the
Party. They may not have consciously operated with clear knowledge that they
were doing work for the CIA. There are many others who went to US universities
on USSALEP's Black management training programmes, are now in government
departments and state enterprises. The Reagan Administration took recruits for
training in the US via US AID and related institutions. These developments and
the internal faction fights abroad did not stop the pace of the revolution,
which is primarily led by the will of the Azanian masses. They also did not
win in turing the PAC into a fake organisation. The article you've posted for
us to read refers to handsome largess from the CIA via USSALEP going to Mandela
(ANC) and Buthelezi (IFP).
Here is what makes the PAC different: Party cadres have taken the teachings
of Mangaliso Sobukwe to heart, and have understood him when he says the "dust"
that comes about in the struggle must not blind us from seeing the golden gates
of a liberated Africa. The dust is the shenanigans within and from handlers
outside. There is also a striving to be independent of thought and to
critically examine the conduct of the PAC leadership against the scrutiny of
the Basic Documents - which is clear on matters such as political bankruptcy,
un-accountable corrupt practices, chicanery and skulduggery. I take the jest
by AP Mda very serious when he said 'even a donkey can lead the PAC.' After
Sobukwe's death, the Vorster regime referred to the PAC as 'a monster without a
head'. The Charterists would like to drive a wedge among us - by creating
sweethearts in our ranks, and by the same token publishing hostile documents
like that 'Spare Tyre' propaganda. See how Jacob Zuma fumes when he addresses
the topic of the Africanists. It is psychological fear.
All these mean even if the agents of imperialism are keeping us quite and
off the radar politically (like the CIA expects us to be), there are good
Africanists who defend the revolution. Time will tell.

Buthelezi, De Klerk wins

Nantso ke comrade,
Good morning noble sons and daughters of the soil. Please check the link below
as it poses a huge threat to the organisations unity. Apparently a CIA funded
organisation USSALEP has been funding political organisations in Africa who
will take into account the US interests upon independance. Apparently the PAC
was allegedly funded to keep the organisation quiet and suppress its views.
This is a serious allegation and unity is doubtful in the organisation if such
a force exists amongst the members of the organisation. I hope this is not true.
