CPP will unite all Nkrumahists – Samia

The Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP), on Wednesday announced that it was 
reaching out to all other Nkrumahists including the Peoples’ National 
Convention (PNC) and Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) to form one 
unified Party.
 Ms Samia Yaaba Nkrumah, Chairman and Leader of the CPP, said the party would 
in addition reach out to all Ghanaians as part of its membership drive to win 
especially the youth to become active members of the party.
 “The CPP will now present itself as a unified party, no more factions,” she 
said at a swearing-in ceremony to formally induct the newly elected executives 
into office.
 Officers sworn–in are Mrs Susan Adu Amankwah, First Vice Chairman, Ms Rodaline 
Imoro-Ayarna, Second Vice Chairman, Mr Oteng
 Anane, Third Vice Chairman and Mr Seth Gomnah, National Treasurer.
 The rest are Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, General Secretary, Mr Abu Forgor, 
National Organiser, Ms Mary Ankomah Boakye Boateng,
 National Women’s Organiser and Mr Mohammed Murtala Ahmed, National Youth 
Organiser.
 
Ms Nkrumah said “We will lift the party to become a viable alternative to lead 
Ghana” and passionately appealed to the members to give off their best, be 
committed and fully dedicated to the party.
 She said the CPP would no longer be silent on issues of national interest but 
would rather articulate solutions for the people,assuring members that their 
sacrifices to the party would not be in vain.
 Expressing her gratitude to the members for voting her and the other 
executives into office, Ms Nkrumah noted that the tone had already been set by 
the immediate past National Chairman, Mr Ladi Nylander.
Ms Nkrumah described the recent congress as the most gender sensitive and 
gender-aware congress which had elected three women to the top-most positions 
of the party and pledged to serve the party with humility and grace.
 Mr Nylander described the recent congress as the most successful in the 
history of the CPP.
 “The CPP is at a stage for take-off,” he said and pledged his full support for 
Samia.
 Mr Nylander said the party had tied all the loose ends to ensure that Samia 
was firmly in the Chairmanship seat.
 Mr Amoah Awuah, Member of CPP Council of Elders tasked the executives to find 
aspirants in their constituencies to increase the party’s Parliamentary seats.
 Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum, Election 2008 Presidential Candidate of the CPP, Dr 
Edmund Dele, Former National Chairman of the CPP, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa 
and Mr George Aggudey both leading members of the CPP, witnessed the ceremony.
