Greetings M'Afrika

21st March Sharpeville and Langa Massacre Commemoration has passed, I guess
some are eagerly waiting for the following year so as to continue the
tradition. I am haunted by simple and basic questions which I hope M'Afrika
will greatly assist to provide responses adequate to serve as an answer!
Year after year as PAC we commemorate 21st March Sharpeville massacre and
very soon it will be June 16 National Students Uprising and followed by the
31st July Heroes Day dedicated to Poqo cadres hanged and some buried in
unmarked graves. These fallen people of various ages and languages hold one
thing in common probably lost as the horns of the chronometer are drowned by
the lapses of hours and days.

Using word cited by M'Afrika Ali, which succinctly captures my thoughts
haunted by the questions of the significance of commemorations, Has the PAC
become a commemoration of historical events party?, that is, on June 16 a
journalist inquired "So how best do we thank those girls and boys who,
armed only with stones, took on a mighty state? Do we put up monuments in
their honour? Do we compose heroic poems about their valour? Name public
institutions after them and their deeds.? Or The way to honour them is to
realise their dream of creating a just and decent society. (Editor; 2006;
38)and Soweto Massacre! The question is"

How and in what forms can the PAC give a concrete meaning that have an
extended effect with the mixed generations living in this era?

Shango lashu!
